ArtsWA and Humanities Washington Budget Challenges

In the 2017-2019 biennium, ArtsWA’s budget has been disproportionately cut, impacting the community grants program which provides funding throughout the state, and de-funding the public art portal program. These cuts must be reversed.

We also need to support Humanities Washington’s Speakers Bureau that provides inspiring speakers across the state, and the Folk & Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program that pairs master practitioners, many of whom are elderly and at the end of their careers, with apprentices seeking to learn their craft.
